History & Foundation

Central South Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (CSUT) - Founded 1952
Originated from the Mining & Metallurgy program of Hunan Industrial College (1903). Later became Central South University of Technology.
Central South College of Civil Engineering (CRU) - Founded 1953
Originated from Civil Engineering at Hunan Industrial College. Developed under Ministry of Railways administration.
Xiangya Medical College (HMU) - Founded 1914
One of China's earliest Western medicine colleges, established through joint efforts of Hunan Yuqun Society and Yale-China Association. Founded by Dr. Edward Hicks Hume and Yan Fuqing.
